Do You Need to Exchange Your License in Hungary?
You must exchange your license if:
You are a non-EU/EEA citizen, and
You plan to stay more than 6 months as a resident
Your country has an exchange agreement with Hungary
You can keep using your foreign license if:
You’re from the EU/EEA and your license is valid
You’re a temporary resident or tourist
Remember: Hungary allows a 6-month grace period for most non-EU licenses. After that, it becomes invalid unless exchanged.
